Based in Thomastown, this limestone fishery is a series of fast runs, rifles & glides and is arguably the most picturesque river valley in southern Ireland. There are some 8 miles of river to explore; stocked with an abundance of native wild brown trout and prolific fly hatches throughout the season you’re promised a memorable outdoor experience.Your guide Noel Molloy has the internationally recognised S.T.A.N.I.C  qualification and is also a member of the “fly dressers guild”. Thomastown is home to the only outdoor Olympic size swimming pool in the country. Known as the Weirpool, the swimming area provides lifeguarded bathing, a paddling pool for children and facilities for swimmers of intermediate and advanced capabilities. Swimming lessons are provided by Irish Water Safety for residents and visitors alike.

The pool has sluice gates (rebuilt to heritage standard) for water management purposes and the surrounding grounds have been designated a special conservation area, with emphasis on preserving biodiversity.

Angling Thomastown (15 mins away) the River Nore & tributaries Kings River and River Erkina provide a rich sourch of brown trout fishing between Thomastown & Inistioge. Good salmon fishing between Inistioge (tidal) & River Dinin (joins Nore north of Kilkenny city from the east). Permit (€10) & tackle can be purchased at Sim Treacy’s shop in Thomastown. Rules apply from local angling Club. Fishing also at Mount Juliet, Jerpoint Park, Castlecomer Discovery Park and Mooncoin.

Ardaire Springs is situated in Ardera, Mooncoin, Co. Kilkenny and covers over 2.5 acres of lakes, stocked with Rainbow and Brown trout, they cater for family & group fishing activities - clubs, corporate events, associations & school tours.

There is an on-site tackle shop, restaurant, BBQ area and ample car parking.The very experienced staff will ensure you have an enjoyable and pleasant days fishing.
